The Turner Prize, Britain’s leading modern art award made annually by the Tate Gallery, London, this year features the music of Bragod as part of the internationally renowned Turner Prize Exhibition.
Turner Prize nominated art collective Gentle/Radical have chosen to feature music composed and performed by Bragod as part of their award installation at the Herbert Gallery in Coventry which is this year Britain’s City of Culture.
Bragod’s musical setting of the great Welsh peace poem Gweddi’r Orsedd accompanies the Turner Prize Exhibition installation from Wales and is performed by Bragod and community musicians. The poem, by the legendary Welsh social and cultural campaigner Iolo Morganwg calls for peace, knowledge and harmony.
Bragod’s recording of the music, originally commissioned by the Landscapes of Faith festival in South Wales, can be heard and downloaded here on Bandcamp (link to Bandcamp)
